A pastry platter can turn a short coffee break into an afternoon together. Someone discovers a new speciality, someone recognises a familiar flavour, and a brief visit becomes a shared moment. These are the occasions Patisserie Tanger is here for.

Our family-run patisserie opened on 1 February 2007 at Ellerstraße 89 in Düsseldorf. Behind it is Saloua Manqad and a connection to Moroccan pastry craft that grew within her family. Today you can discover our specialities in the shop or order online for delivery within Germany.

A craft passed on in the family

Saloua learned the craft from her mother. A Rheinische Post portrait in our press archive also tells this story, describing a family in which work in the bakery and running the business belong together.

This closeness to the craft shapes how we see pastries: filling, carefully formed dough and delicate decoration come together in each finished piece. The different shapes and small details make a mixed platter inviting, encouraging you to look closely and take time to taste.

Why we are called Patisserie Tanger

Our name recalls Tangier, the Moroccan port city where Saloua’s parents come from. The Rheinische Post portrait explains this personal connection. The name is part of our family history and the roots of our patisserie.

For us, Moroccan pastries are an invitation to share. A few pieces with tea, a sweet gift for a visit or a festive platter can bring very different people around one table. This idea has accompanied our work from the beginning.

Part of Ellerstraße, enjoyed across Germany

Our history is documented beyond the bakery too. The neighbourhood history “Düsseldorf-Oberbilk hat es in sich” mentions Patisserie Tanger and its opening in 2007. Our shop remains part of the lively Ellerstraße district.

You do not have to live nearby to order. Discover our mixed pastry platters and boxes for tasting, sharing and gifting. If you already have a favourite, explore our individual sweet pastries.

From a small gift to a big celebration

Weddings, engagements, birthdays and events are also part of our customers’ stories. For these occasions we discuss the selection, presentation, quantity and date personally. Cafés, restaurants and other business customers can ask about our wholesale offering.

Our story continues through the occasions for which you choose our pastries. We are happy when a new favourite or a shared memory becomes part of it.
